Did you know…..apprenticeship training is open to all businesses and is funded by either the contribution the business makes to the Apprenticeship Levy Scheme or it is 95% subsidised for smaller firms.

From taking on school and college leavers or university graduates, or to upskill new and existing team members throughout the business, whatever the size of your business or the sector it operates in, there is a fantastic range of training and support available.

Mercer & Hole is a local leading firm of accounts in Hertfordshire and has been a part of the community since 1905, it continues to grow and innovate thanks to its vibrant business community.

Mercer & Hole have been speaking to apprentices and business leaders in Watford and the surrounding Hertfordshire area to find out more about the apprenticeships they are taking and the schemes they are running to upskill staff.

Jo Upshall, Audit & Business Advisory Partner at Mercer & Hole says “Apprenticeships are helping businesses recruit, retain and train the next generation of their workforce as well as to upskill existing employees to help them move forward within the organisation. At a time when there are more job vacancies than people actively searching for work, employers need to become more competitive in their offering to help them recruit and retain the best staff. Many people have ambitious goals of where they would like their career to take them and they are looking to work for a firm that will support them on this journey.”

“At Mercer & Hole we have over 20 apprentices across different service lines, all of whom will have the opportunity to springboard their careers from the grounded business experience they will receive. We want all our employees to thrive in with the strengths they have, and ambitions they hold.”

There are clearly many benefits for the individual and the organisations taking part, so follow our series of interviews to find out more.
