Lynsey Lord

Lynsey is a partner in Mercer & Hole’s Private Client Team and specialises in assisting high net worth individuals and trusts on all aspects of personal taxation including income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax.

Lynsey works with both UK domiciled and non-UK domiciled individual including those living in and outside the UK.  In 2015, she undertook a secondment at a firm in New York through Mercer & Hole’s international network, The International Accounting Group (TIAG) and has used this valuable experience to help US citizens and Green Card holders living in the UK to navigate tax legislation in two jurisdictions and to minimise the pitfalls that a dual US/UK tax resident can face.

Lynsey’s approach is to provide clear and concise advice to her clients which they fully understand. She relishes the problem-solving element to her job and, in particular, breaking down the complexities so that clients come away knowing the tax rules, understanding what their options are and feeling supported in deciding the way forward.

A shining example of homegrown talent, Lynsey joined Mercer & Hole in 2008 as a graduate trainee, qualifying with the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) in 2010, then as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) in 2012. In October 2020 she was promoted to Private Client Director and became one of the firm’s Private Client Partners in October 2023. Our clients now benefit from a Private Client Team comprising of eight partners following Lynsey’s appointment.

Outside of work, Lynsey enjoys running (although is mostly now running after her two young daughters!) and is a keen Everton Football Club supporter.
