Lynsey specialises in assisting high net worth individuals. Her main motivation is to help her clients understand the boundaries set by UK tax legislation and to assist with structuring their affairs in a tax efficient, but also practical way.

Lynsey advises on cross border tax issues including dissecting and applying relevant tax treaties. She has a particular focus on the US having spent 4 months on secondment at a firm in New York through the firm’s international network, TIAG (The International Accounting Group). Lynsey is also experienced in pre-arrival tax planning for non UK domiciles and application of the Statutory Residence Test.

Lynsey has experience in Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning which includes carrying out a full review of her clients’ current exposure to IHT with a view to reducing it. Additionally, Lynsey handles the disclosure of historic unreported income and gains, taking the burden off the individual’s shoulders whilst focusing on minimising the impact to them.

Lynsey joined Mercer & Hole in 2008 and qualified with the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) in 2010, then as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) in 2012. She was promoted to Assistant Manager in 2012, Partner’s Assistant in 2013, Manager in 2016 and promoted to Senior Tax Manager in 2018.

Outside of work, Lynsey volunteers for the charity ‘Tax Help for Older People’. She enjoys travelling and cites going to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil as one of her most exciting adventures to date. Lynsey also enjoys running and is an Everton Football Club supporter.
