Based in our London office, Dominic Dumville is a Partner in Mercer & Hole’s Restructuring and Insolvency team. As a forensic accountant with an insolvency licence, Dominic’s broad experience proves invaluable when advising on all manner of engagements. Primarily, he provides strategic restructuring advice to businesses facing financial distress. He works closely with clients to restore stability and deliver tailored, effective solutions that align with commercial realities.

With experience and expertise in forensic investigations, insolvency proceedings, and complex dispute resolution, Dominic brings a multi-disciplinary perspective to his work. His forensic accounting skills are particularly valuable in cases involving fraud, financial misconduct, or contentious legal matters – where he frequently achieves successful outcomes for clients. Dominic also accepts instructions to act as an expert witness, drawing on his analytical skills and deep accounting knowledge.

Known for his fresh perspective and agile thinking, Dominic consistently identifies solutions that others might overlook. He collaborates with a highly capable team to ensure the best possible outcome for all stakeholders, whether acting for distressed companies, creditors, or legal professionals.

Dominic specialises in contentious insolvency and regularly works alongside legal teams on complex, high-stakes matters. His tenacity, technical skill, and resilience make him particularly effective in recovering assets and navigating difficult insolvency disputes.

Dominic joined Mercer & Hole as a Restructuring and Insolvency Partner in 2020, bringing with him a broad and varied career in accountancy and restructuring. It is this broad base of knowledge and experience, alongside his depth of forensic and restructuring expertise, which helps him provide allows him to deliver advice that is not only robust and practical but also commercially astute.

Outside of work, Dominic enjoys an active life with his large family. He participates in a wide range of sports, including surfing, snowboarding and playing golf – when time allows!  He also holds a music degree and is a professionally trained brass musician, though he is also proficient in a number of instruments.
