Rachel is a Senior Tax Manager in Mercer & Hole’s London office where she works with individuals and their families and trusts, including non-domiciled clients and their offshore trusts, with their tax concerns. She does a lot of work across the tax and financial planning boundary and has recently been assisting with the expert witness work in the McCloud litigation.
Rachel enjoys the challenge of breaking down complicated problems into understandable advice. Many clients have variety of tax issues with are intertwined with other problems (legal issues or family dynamics) and Rachel finds that managing all the moving parts to work in harmony with the tax strategy is very rewarding. She also relishes working in London as it means she works with a diverse range of clients from all over the world.
Rachel started at Mercer & Hole as a Graduate Trainee in July 2016 moving on to be a Partner’s Assistant in October 2019, a manager in October 2021 and a Senior Manager in March 2024. The positive and supportive culture has nurtured her career as it has provided an environment where she can ask for help when needed but has been given the confidence in her skillset meaning that she can run her portfolio with independence.
She loves the close knit and collaborative way in which the firm works as she and her colleagues are constantly sharing knowledge and making the best of their skill sets to the benefit of clients.
Outside works Rachel enjoys baking and is a keen Formula 1 fan.
