Iain MacRae is part of the Financial Planning team based in the London office bringing more than a decade of experience in the wealth management industry. Since 2012, he has specialised in helping individuals and families navigate key financial decisions through tailored advice on pensions, investments and protection.
As a Financial Planner, Iain takes a holistic approach to financial planning, helping clients develop strategies that support their long-term goals. His expertise spans retirement planning, investment advice, protection solutions and estate planning, ensuring clients have a comprehensive plan in place to protect and grow their wealth.
Iain works with a broad range of clients, from individuals making their first investment to those approaching retirement who require advice on accessing their savings in a tax-efficient way. He enjoys building long-term relationships with clients, helping them define their objectives and identifying the most effective route to achieving them.
Iain says that by providing excellent client service means being prepared for change. Whether responding to shifts in tax legislation, market fluctuations or changes in personal circumstances, he believes a successful financial plan should be adaptable enough to support clients throughout every stage of life.
One of the key challenges of financial planning is keeping pace with evolving legislation and tax rules and ensuring these are incorporated into a cohesive strategy that meets a client’s needs. By working closely with colleagues and partners across Mercer & Hole, Iain helps deliver joined-up advice that takes every aspect of a client’s financial position into account.
Outside of work, Iain spends most of his time with his two young sons, aged five and two. From swimming lessons and sports activities to relaxing with an episode of Paw Patrol, family life keeps him happily occupied.
