Restructuring & Insolvency in Europe
A new European approach to insolvency was the theme of INSOL Europe’s 2014 annual congress in Istanbul
This is the first of a series of posts inspired by the conference presentations.
The new approach celebrates what Europe’s insolvency regimes have in common, not least the European Insolvency Regulation, including the majority of current proposals for its revision.
The value of the congress to me was not only the insight it provided into restructuring and insolvency throughout Europe, especially in cross-border cases where an economic unit in financial difficulties has a presence in more than one jurisdiction, but also the establishment and maintenance of relationships with fellow professionals who help us to provide cross-border solutions.
