Saqib joined Mercer & Hole in 2021, having studied Accounting and Finance at University of East Anglia and having worked in a variety of payrolls for six years.
Saqib began as a payroll trainee at TMF Global Services, and quickly progressed to a payroll administrator for his exceptional client relations, a position in which he was also responsible for onboarding any new clients and running parallels. The types of clients with which Saqib worked included sports manufacturers, retail, luxury goods, oil manufacturers, and those in the finance industry. Some payrolls were based in more than one country and so Saqib gained experience liaising with different countries to ensure all data was in order and KPI’s were met on a global level.
From there Saqib worked at accounting and payroll firm Cobia for four years where he was promoted to Senior Administrator and Payroll Supervisor. From training in Saqib’s previous role with the payroll software IRIS and onboarding, he implanted IRIS payroll software for all clients and trained all staff. Saqib enjoyed being responsible for onboarding, running parallels, training new staff and dealing with all payroll queries. The clients with which Saqib was working were mostly security firms, along with retail, supermarkets, drinks/distilleries, pharmaceutical payrolls to smaller fish and chip shops, dentists and local businesses.
Alongside payroll, Saqib has been responsible for creating new contracts for clients, producing journals and tailored financial reports and working closely with clients accounting teams to reconcile figures. Saqib currently holds eight exemptions to the ACCA qualification.
Outside of work Saqib enjoys playing football, keeping active, playing video games and going on long walks.
