Sandy is Consultant based at Mercer & Hole’s Rickmansworth office. Primarily, he provides audit and accountancy advice to owners and directors of owner-managed businesses but he also assists with business development strategies, as well as many aspects of tax.
Sandy has extensive experience of working with businesses that have special regulatory or accounting needs, such as professional practices, charities and those regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Sandy enjoys the variety and diversity of general accounting practice, both the technical challenges and the more human aspects. No two days are ever the same.
Sandy joined Mercer & Hole as a Partner in 2016, as a result of a merger with Day, Smith & Hunter (DSH), who he joined in 2000. Prior to that, Sandy trained with a Top 20 accountancy firm.
Sandy played rugby for many years and has been Treasurer of Old Albanian RFC on two separate occasions. He is Chairman of The 948 Sports Foundation, a St Albans-based charity which awards grants to promote participation in sport by young people. Prior to taking up this role, Sandy was the Treasurer of the charity for 10 years.
