Robin Edwards

Robin is based in Mercer & Hole’s St Albans office as part of the Private Client team, where he manages Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax returns for individuals, and Inheritance Tax returns for estates. He also provides ad hoc advice on various tax matters.

Robin is driven by helping his clients understand the often-grey areas of complicated tax matters and offsetting their financial concerns. He also enjoys the intellectual challenges that come with specialising in tax matters as they often require a lot of research, interpreting legislation, and reviewing case law, to get to the bottom of an issue.

Robin started at Mercer & Hole as a graduate trainee, so his tax knowledge has been gained both by learning whilst working, and by studying for the CTA exams. He enjoys the culture at Mercer & Hole as it is a very friendly firm, with a strong focus on mental wellbeing, which he finds encourages a very positive environment in which to work.

Robin has lived in and around St Albans for the past 15 years, so the St Albans office was the obvious choice for him, and he appreciates the historical significance, as this is where founder, William Mercer set up office in 1909. Outside of work, Robin enjoys meeting friends in St Albans and London, which is only a train ride away. He is also a keen cyclist, and skier/snowboarder in the winter months.
