Richard is Senior Tax Manager based at Mercer & Hole’s Rickmansworth office, where he maintains the team’s client base from a tax perspective. Richard also manages a varied portfolio of his own clients, including individuals, SME’s, Partnerships, Trusts and Estates. Richard provides advice on areas such as personal tax, Inheritance Tax (IHT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), tax planning and structuring. Additionally, he has a significant amount of experience working with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
Richard enjoys helping people with their tax affairs and seeks to ease the burden that tax can create. It is his goal to deliver practical, intelligent and pragmatic solutions to ensure the best outcome possible for his clients. Richard enjoys the challenges that tax presents and the problem solving that goes hand-in-hand with it, as well as its ever-changing nature.
Richard joined Mercer & Hole in 2016, as a result of a merger with Day, Smith & Hunter (DSH). He joined DSH in 2006 as a trainee and qualified with the firm.
Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending time with his young children. He particularly likes family days out and is a frequent visitor to Whipsnade Zoo. Richard also enjoys watching as well as playing football and is an Arsenal supporter.
