Luke joined Mercer & Hole in September 2021 as an Audit Manager in the Rickmansworth office, where he undertakes statutory audits and prepares statutory accounts and corporation tax returns for his clients across many sectors including OMBs (Owner Managed Businesses), hospitality, charities, engineering and construction.
He enjoys getting to know his clients and their businesses and believes that through building strong relationships with them, he can better understand their aspirations, goals, and future plans in order to provide them with the best advice and support possible.
Prior to joining Mercer & Hole, Luke trained at a St Albans based firm having graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Liverpool, and became ACA qualified in February 2019. He joined BDO UK in March 2019, where he gained valuable experience in financial services audit, particularly insurers, managing a portfolio of clients since November 2019.
Luke chose a career in accountancy as he wanted the challenge of getting to know businesses – understanding what they do and how they operate and moreover how they survive and adapt to the everchanging economic environment. He has found that his engineering background has equipped him with the analytical and numerical skills to excel in his career and he enjoys the variety of work on a day-to-day basis.
In his spare time Luke enjoys water sports, namely kayaking and SUP (stand-up paddle boarding). He is also taking his favourite hobby to the next level as he is currently training for his private pilot licence having been a keen glider pilot since the age of 15!
