Jamie works closely with business owners to help them achieve their strategic aims. He has a focus on growing entrepreneurial businesses and particularly enjoys working with those in the tech sector. Being based in Milton Keynes, an area of high growth for tech industries, Jamie finds it exciting to be involved in the rate of change that is happening locally.
Jamie takes responsibility for overseeing audits and non-audit related accountancy services, managing relationships with his clients, who are primarily owner-managed businesses, and leading the team. He also assists sole traders and various charities & not-for-profit organisations. Jamie’s experience extends to many sectors including healthcare, logistics, service industries, professional practices, building and construction, IT, property development and investment, education and recruitment.
Jamie is a member of the ICAEW’s Mid-Market Tech Forum and offers thought leadership on understanding the use of new technologies in accounting firms, their development and planning for impact. Jamie takes a lead role in looking at how we apply new technologies to our own business to improve the service we offer our clients. Jamie also specialises in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and sits on the firm’s Audit Technical Committee.
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006, Jamie joined Mercer & Hole as a Senior Audit Manager in 2012 and was promoted to Director in 2016.
Outside of work, Jamie enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He is a keen cyclist and cites organising a 300-mile charity bike ride over three days as his greatest sporting achievement. Jamie also likes cooking and reading.
