Iain Muffitt

Iain is a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner, a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. Iain is the Financial Planning Managing Director, which has been consistently recognised as a Top Financial Planning Company in thewealthnet’s annual survey. Iain has been a financial planner for over 25 years and has a depth of experience in advising high net worth individuals and their families. Additionally, Iain specialises in Court of Protection and Later Life work, including retirement and succession planning.

Iain has been actively involved with Solicitors of the Elderly, lecturing on the financial issues affecting later life clients. His work in this area has seen Iain helping clients and families plan their financial affairs, which includes finding the delicate balance between protecting the wealth of elderly clients and providing for their future generations.

Iain is highly experienced in retirement planning and works closely with the Private Client Team at Mercer & Hole to provide clients with a ‘joined-up’ approach to tax and financial planning advice. Indeed, Financial Planning won Tax & Estate Planner of the Year at the The Moneyfacts Awards 2018, which is testament to both Iain and the firm’s approach.

Additionally, Iain’s strong knowledge of the financial planning process has led to him acting as an expert witness on a number of cases involving complex investment and pension cases.

Iain joined Mercer & Hole in 2013, he was promoted to Director in 2014 and Managing Director in 2022.
