Alison Palmer is a Private Client Tax Partner at Mercer & Hole, based in our London office. As an experienced private client professional and a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Alison advises clients on all taxation aspects of their financial affairs. This includes capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning, the use of trusts, offshore matters and claiming applicable reliefs. In particular, she has an interest in residence issues and the taxation of foreign domiciliaries.
Alison started her career at Ernst & Young and gained her ATT qualification there. She then joined Arthur Andersen, which resulted in a move to Mercer & Hole when part of the private client work of Andersens was transferred to the firm. Spending the next ten years at Mercer & Hole, Alison qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2006. She left the firm in 2008, becoming a Senior Manager in an international firm’s London Private Client Tax team. Alison returned to Mercer & Hole in 2015 and was promoted to Tax Director in 2016, becoming Partner the following year.
Outside of work, Alison enjoys spending time with her family and is a keen scuba diver.
