Gill Tallon is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, a private client, trust and financial planning specialist with over 35 years’ experience. Gill has been a partner at Mercer & Hole since 1999 and in 2017 was appointed as the firm’s Deputy Managing Partner. She is also a Director and shareholder of Mercer & Hole Trustees Ltd, the firm’s Trust Corporation and heads up M&H Financial Planning, the firm’s financial planning arm.
Gill’s portfolio of clients include individuals, their families and their trusts, some of whom she has known for many years. She acts as trustee for many of her clients and advises on all aspects of personal financial planning, particularly involving trust and estate tax planning strategies. She also takes a special interest in acting for non domiciled individuals and offshore trusts.
Lisa Spearman has over 25 years' experience of advising high net worth individuals. Her skill at tax planning, together with her knowledge of capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters, allows her to advise on a broad range of tax and trust issues. In addition, Lisa, an acknowledged expert on the tax consequences of offshore trusts, and residence and domicile issues, leads Mercer & Hole’s specialist team that focuses on non UK domiciled clients.
Lisa is Chairman of the ICAEW Tax Faculty’s Private Client Committee and within that leads the working party on non domicile and residence matters. She is also a member of the ICAEW Tax Faculty Technical Committee. A regular contributor to TAXline Tax Planning, Lisa has had chapters published on both non residence and inheritance tax. Lisa also writes for Mercer & Hole’s Tax Plus blog.
