Mercer & Hole volunteer the Open School East in London
A team from Mercer & Hole Chartered Accountants went to the Open School East, located in Hackney, London on 23 August.
The Open School East (OSE) is one specialising in Arts. Every Tuesday the center welcomes Hackney Stream, a group of over 55’s who organize events as older local people. They provide tablet and mobile phone training, monthly dance parties, traditional cooking, art marking workshops and social events.
Private Client Partner Liz Cuthbertson, Corporate Advisory Director Henry Page and Elizabeth Pollard attended the school for the afternoon. In the time that Liz, Henry and Elizabeth were at the school they were involved in teaching the Hackney Stream group how to use mobile phones and tablet devices which form an essential part to the work and learning that goes on at the OSE.
Speaking of her volunteering afternoon Liz Cuthbertson said “Our team had a wonderful afternoon getting to know the attendees of Hackney Stream and teaching the group how to use their mobile phones and tablets. The group was so grateful for our help and advice and I am pleased we had the opportunity to pass on our knowledge.”
