Mercer & Hole take part in the Scurry Race at the Hertfordshire County Show
Mercer & Hole’s Marketing Director, Maria Bailey entered the Scurry Race at the Hertfordshire County Show on Sunday 24th May as an ‘amateur groom’.
The race took the form of two rounds of an obstacle course; the usual grooms rode the first round and the amateur grooms took to the carriages for the second round. The results were based on the cumulative time of both rounds.
Pulled by ponies, Stew and Dumpling, Maria’s round of 47.17 was the fastest of the day and resulted in the team earning third place in the competition overall.
Mercer & Hole donated a £110 charity prize fund to the race organiser’s in celebration of the firm’s 110th year of business. The winner, Bill Barr will decide which charity benefits from the money.
Mercer & Hole are engaging with the local community to support a range of good causes, projects and events over the coming months as they celebrate their long association with the local community.
