Mercer & Hole take part in Howes Percival School Sports Day
Thursday afternoon saw 10 teams enjoy some light-hearted competition in the sunshine, at the Howes Percival School Sports Day.
Mercer & Hole got off to a flying start, winning the first two races: ‘bean bag on the head’ and the egg & spoon race. Traditional races such as the sack race and three-legged race followed, along with some more unusual challenges.
The lunge race was to be our downfall. Lunging was not our forte and we slumped to a disappointing last place. Note for next year, to work on our quads! The ‘Space hopper’ race was perhaps the most amusing. It was no surprise that tiny Space hoppers and long legs were not a winning combination! The afternoon culminated with the tug of war competition which Mercer & Hole won.
Finally, the weary competitors were rewarded with a hog roast and some drinks while the scores were totted up, Mercer & Hole were pleased to take home a bronze medal.
An enjoyable afternoon was had by all and a big thank you goes to Howes Percival for hosting a great event!
