Mercer & Hole make donation to MK Food Bank
The team at Mercer & Hole Chartered Accountant’s Milton Keynes office made a donation to MK Food Bank recently, continuing their support of the charity.
Mercer & Hole began their relationship with MK Food Bank in 2014, when the firm supported the charity during its ‘25 Acts of Kindness’ campaign to celebrate 25 years of business in Milton Keynes. Since then, the office has had an ongoing collection of non-perishable items and the team make regular donations to the charity.
Tax Director, Jacqui Gudgion led the handover to MK Food bank said ‘it was great to see the amazing work that the team do and to hear and the support that is provided. John ran through a variety of situations people find themselves in where the food bank provides valuable assistance to families and individuals. Thankfully it seems this is generally a short term fix helping people to get back on track but the food bank always needs more donations and volunteers so don’t be shy, most supermarkets have trolleys available to pop a few items in’.
John Marshall, Project Manager at MK Food Bank said ‘Mercer & Hole is a great example of how a local company can work with the Food Bank. The regular donations from staff of most needed food items are much appreciated. It’s easy to get involved – gives us a tin of sweetcorn and you’re in!’
MK Food Bank distributes food parcels to those families and individuals identified by referral agencies as needing its support. Clientele are able to access a food parcel five times within a year but there is further help for those who require it. Collections can be made from one of several serving sessions held in and around Milton Keynes. As well as facilitating food parcel pick-up, the sessions offer clients a warm welcome and the chance of a chat over tea and biscuits.
