Mercer & Hole host bake sale and dress down for Brain Tumour Research’s ‘Host for Hope’ campaign
The St Albans office of Chartered Accountants’ Mercer & Hole hosted a bake sake and dress-down day on 27 November to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research’s ‘Host for Hope’ campaign.
Brain Tumour Research have a target of raising £7m a year and are aiming to fund brain tumour research in the same way as other cancers. Currently the organisation receives less than 1% of national cancer research spending in the UK. Despite the lack of funding, brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of UK children and more people under the age of 40 die from the disease than from any other cancer.
General Practice Partner, Ross Lane said: “We are proud to have joined in funding the fight against brain tumours. It is clear from the statistics that research in this area is vital. We hope that everyone within our St Albans office enjoyed taking part in ‘Host for Hope’ whether they baked or made a donation to enjoy the goods offered.”
Mercer & Hole are supporting ‘Host for Hope’ in addition to working with many local charities and supporting events in the St Albans area as part of their 110 years of business celebrations. The firm is aiming to give back to the local and wider community which has supported them for so long.
