Mercer & Hole help out at Age Concern St Albans
Volunteers from accountancy firm Mercer & Hole donated 110 minutes of their time to help Age Concern St Albans on 2 and 18 November in celebration of the firm’s 110th year of business.
Partner, Helen Price and staff from Mercer & Hole’s St Albans office served tea, coffee and cake to clients at two local Age Concern groups, during November. The groups meet regularly and provide the opportunity for friendship, a hot meal, talks and visits. During their visit, the Mercer & Hole team chatted with the members about what they get up to in the meetings, their families, their lives and generally put the world to rights!
Helen said: “Age Concern’s Friendship Centres provide a great meeting place for older people to socialise and share their interests. We’re delighted to have been able to support two of the local groups and it was a pleasure to meet the members, who gave us a very warm welcome. Hearing stories of days gone by and reflecting on the changes in local life over the years was an enjoyable experience for us all.”
Christine Law from Age Concern St Albans said “We are grateful to have received these visits from the Mercer & Hole teams. Our members really enjoyed meeting new people and they got a real lift from the conversations that ensued. They enjoyed the delicious cakes too!”
Mercer & Hole are marking their long association with St Albans with a variety of community and charity projects throughout the year.
