Mercer & Hole Cricket Match v Ruffer
A team from Mercer & Hole’s London office took part in a friendly cricket match against investment management firm Ruffer last Thursday, 25th June at Wandsworth Park in Putney.
Senior Trustees Manager, Simon Coggins captained the team which included Partner, Peter Godfrey Evans and colleagues Henry Lowe, Patrick Mayor, Garry Picker, Tim Smith, Chris Sweeting and William Welch.
Ruffer, who hosted the game, batted first, scoring a credible 142 runs. A good team effort by the Mercer & Hole team provided an exciting finish with the visitors finishing on 143 runs with one ball to spare. Strong performances to mention came from Henry Lowe, who took one wicket and got 25 runs before retiring, and Chris Sweeting, who took three wickets and went on to add to the team’s tally of runs along with Garry Picker.
The glorious sunny evening and the beautiful setting on the river at Putney provided the perfect backdrop to the match and ensured that the celebrations continued off the pitch and onto the pub afterwards.
Mercer & Hole thank Ruffer for a great game, their sportsmanship and their kind hospitality.
