Mercer & Hole bring families together for Mothers Day
Chartered Accountants, Mercer & Hole are celebrating their 110th year of business by engaging with a range of local charities and organisations, carrying out goodwill gestures.
The first to benefit is local charity Home Start, which provides a support service for families with young children. Mercer & Hole are working alongside Waterstones in St Peter's Street to host a Mothers Day themed event for the families on Friday 13 March, where they will be able to meet, enjoy refreshments and be entertained.
At the event, children's entertainer, Sally Patterson will be reading a story set around families and will be getting the children engaged in various activities. Additionally, the children will also be able to take part in a Mother's Day card colouring competition to create a special momento for their Mum ahead of Mothering Sunday. The works of art will be judged by Mercer & Hole Partner, Helen Price, and all entrants will be rewarded with a Waterstones voucher with the winning entrant will be able to select new bed time stories to take home.
Home Start's team of volunteers work with local families in St Albans, its surrounding villages, Harpenden, Redbourn and Wheathampstead, London Colney, Sandridge and Colney Heath tailoring emotional and practical support to the individual needs of each family and child. Their support includes helping parents who have an illness or a disability to cope, organising family finances, introducing families to support networks, assisting families with routines and accessing emergency support.
Mercer & Hole Senior Partner Paul Maberly said "We are delighted to be hosting this event, with the support of Waterstones, and hope that it brings many of the families that Home Start supports together to enjoy celebrating Mother's Day."
Home Starts Senior Coordinator / Manager, Suzy Moody said ""It is fantastic that Mercer & Hole have chosen to support Home Start as part of their 110 year celebration. I am sure the event will be great fun and that the families will have a very enjoyable morning. Thanks also to Waterstones for providing such a perfect venue for the event".
Mercer & Hole will continue to thank the local community, which has supported the St Albans office of the firm for so long, with further good deeds throughout the coming year.
