Partners, Directors and Managers from Mercer & Hole Chartered Accountants welcomed friends of the firm to the Cricket Pavilion for an afternoon of Croquet at The Hurlingham Club.

The sun shone all day on the beautifully cut lawns which saw our guests enjoy five rounds of tough, but healthy competition.

The strongest duo was Michael Lapham and George Holmes who won all five rounds which gave them a place straight into the final.

The croquet coach, Annabel, asked the three teams in the semi-final to play a knockout of nearest to the hoop. The teams consisted of Chris Laughton and Simon Duncan, Peter Godfrey-Evans and Duncan Nicholson, Mike Orton and Richard Johnston, Henry Lowe and Ben Moore-Brabazon.

The finalists were Michael Lapham and George Holmes play Peter Godfrey-Evans and Duncan Nicholson the competition was friendly and played in good spirit.

The pair who won on the day was Michael Lapham and George Holmes.

Throughout Gill Tallon, Deputy Managing Partner, closing speech, Gill mentioned the many fantastic shots which had taken place throughout the day, many by our Partner, Liz Cuthbertson. The overall winner for the ‘shot of the day’ went to Simon Duncan who had a shot compared to a golf shot as a ‘hole in one’.

Later in the evening enjoyed drinks and a BBQ on the terrace, within the stunning grounds of The Hurlingham Club.
