We are pleased to announce our Charity of the Year for 2019 is Macmillan Cancer Support.

Everyone at Mercer & Hole was invited to vote for their choice of charity from a shortlist provided by our team of Charity Champions, which represent each of our four offices, and Macmillan emerged as the clear winner.

Macmillan aim to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can and, as well as providing practical, medical and financial support, campaign for change.

Mercer & Hole Senior and Managing Partner, Paul Maberly said: “The high numbers of votes Macmillan received in our poll indicate the strength of our team’s support for this cause. I am very pleased that we have this opportunity to do something positive about that.”

Emma Heley, Senior Fundraising Manager at Macmillan said, “A very big thank you to all the staff at Mercer & Hole. We are delighted that they have chosen Macmillan as their Charity of the Year. The funds they raise will make a huge difference to people affected by cancer and could contribute to paying for a Macmillan nurse, or towards our grants program for people struggling financially because of their cancer diagnosis”.

Following the outcome of the vote, our Charity Champions will meet with Macmillan to further their understanding of the charity and to work on fundraising plans across the firm.

This is the third year we have chosen an annual charity partner to support. In 2017, we fundraised for MIND and, in 2018, we supported the Alzheimer’s Society. Our Charity of the Year is part of our corporate responsibility strategy and we also engage with a large number of local charities and good causes in our respective office communities.
