Winner of Tax and Estate Planner of the Year
(2020, 2019 and 2018!)

Throughout the day on Tuesday 8 September 2020, the winners, highly commended and commended were announced on Twitter and LinkedIn. At 1.45pm, the exciting news was revealed that Mercer & Hole Financial Planning are the winners of the Tax and Estate Planner of the Year sponsored by Canada Life. The way the awards were announced this year reflected the strange times we are in, but the recognition perhaps means even more as it demonstrates our continued commitment to our clients despite global events.

Gill Tallon, Deputy Managing Partner said “We are always thrilled to win an award but three times in a row really is a testament to the team’s commitment and exceptional service to our clients. The fact the award include quotes and references from our clients makes it more special. I feel extremely proud of the whole team.”

Whilst the team and their industry peers were not able to celebrate in the usual way at the London Hilton, they took the opportunity to sign a ball in the office to celebrate their well-deserved hat trick!

How does the judging process work?

The finalists and winners of the Investment Life & Pensions Moneyfacts Awards are decided by a combination of methods. Throughout the spring 2020, entries for the adviser categories were invited from the adviser community.

The Moneyfacts team consult their provider contacts for their thoughts on advisers that should be considered. Advisers complete a questionnaire providing details of their organisation, level of expertise, and how they deliver their advice proposition. They are also asked to support the nomination with evidence of their ability to deliver award-winning service. Shortlisted advisers are then able to invite testimonials and an internal judging panel assesses these to decide upon the final positions of the finalists.
