On 15 September, an intrepid team from Mercer & Hole will be walking on hot coals at the MK SNAP Fire Festival 2023 to raise money for local charity, MK SNAP.
Making up the team performing the Dragon Fire Walk are Sheilagh Suthanthiran, Lisa Spearman, Steve Robinson, Yasmina Kreaa and Natalie McSavaney who will perform the daring feat under the supervision of trained professionals. Fire walking is an ancient practice that can inspire confidence through mind over matter as with the correct techniques, walkers can walk across hot coals without getting burned. “I can’t pretend I’m not a little apprehensive, but it is something I’ve always wanted to do and if we can raise money for such a fantastic local charity, then that is a bonus!” says Steve Robinson, Audit and Business Advisory Partner.
MK SNAP works to transform the lives of adults with learning disabilities in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas through the promotion of independence, inspiration and opportunity. Lisa Spearman, Private Client Partner who is also vice chair of MK Snap says, “We at Mercer & Hole believe in supporting our members to develop and realise their potential. We are delighted to support MK SNAP as they too are essential in our local community in providing a safe and fun environment for individuals to learn new skills and enable them to live their lives to the fullest.”
The evening promises to be a fun-filled event with entertainment and food bringing together fundraisers, their families, friends and supporters in a celebration of mind over matter. So, please go along to support our intrepid team and cheer them on as they perform the aptly named Dragon Fire walk! As for the soundtrack to their night, Here Comes the Hotstepper is a firm favourite…
