Organisations increasingly reliant on public sector income

Date: 4th November, 2010   |   Author: Wendy Bambrick   |   Comments: 0

Research conducted by the Third Sector Research Centre (TSRC) suggests that organisations are becoming more dependent upon public sector funding. The research clarifies that 36 ( 61,000) of third sector organisations investigated receive income from statutory sources. Of the 36, organisations that work in disadvantaged areas are prone to be more reliant on this particular source of funding. From a snapshot assessment conducted focusing on seven local authorities, up to a quarter of these perceive public sector income as being their most vital source.
