Help for Charity Trustees
A new online tool has been developed by the Charity Commissions to help newly appointed trustees. Charity reporting can often seem daunting at first and this Handbook breaks down their duties clearly and concisely.
This tool has two uses. Firstly, it aims to ensure a smooth handover between departing and newly appointed trustees. And secondly, it informs new trustees about their duties and responsibilities towards their charities.
This will be particularly useful for charities that experience a high turnover of trustees during the year, for example parent teacher associations. Included is a checklist of information a trustee should expect to receive upon being appointed and an outline of the basics of online reporting and accounting.
