Charity reserves policy – trustees are you aware?
The Charity Commission has updated their guidance on reserves.
The guidance explains what reserves are, the importance of having a policy, the legal requirements with regard to publishing the policy and reporting on it, what trustees should do to keep proper tabs on their charity’s reserves and the importance of reserves.
There is no single level or even range of reserves that is right for all charities. Any reserves policy should reflect the particular circumstances of the individual charity.
