HMRC’s digital strategy
HMRC has issued a report on its digital strategy. HMRC is looking to create digital tax accounts for both individual and business taxpayers. The aim is that every taxpayer will have access to a personalised online tax account where they will be able to file returns, make payments and make changes across all taxes in the one place. The intention is that most requirements will be met online.
HMRC plan to use the data and intelligence they already have for the personalised service to demonstrate that HMRC has an understanding of individual situations. The aim is that interaction will be based on already provided data rather than having to start all over again – we can only hope that aim is really fulfilled.
