HMRC given permission to appeal cases on taxation of bonuses
The Supreme Court has granted HMRC permission to appeal two cases (Deutsche Bank and UBS AG) concerning tax planning arrangements to pay bonuses. The original decisions were unanimously made in favour of the taxpayers by the Court of Appeal.
