Help on RTI for smallest firms
HMRC has announced that small employers, those with no more than 9 employees, will be able to report PAYE information on or before the last pay day in the tax month up until April 2016.
HMRC has acknowledged that the smaller firms need more time to adapt to RTI reporting, and has agreed to allow 2 more years to ensure that those businesses are ready to report all payments in real time.
However, HMRC is encouraging businesses to adapt their processes sooner to ensure that they are ready to report all payments each time they pay their employees by April 2016.
Whilst welcome, the extension is a narrower measure than the current relaxation of rules which will come to an end on 5 April 2014 for employers with 10 or more workers.
