Budget 2010 - Company Share Option Plans

The Chancellor has announced that with immediate effect, companies controlled by a listed company will not be able to use Company Share Option Plans (‘CSOPs') to grant options to senior employees.

This change brings CSOPs in line with the other main tax advantaged share option scheme for owner managed companies, the Enterprise Management Incentive ('EMI').
