Mark Baxter

With over 27 years’ experience as a tax specialist – both CTA and Taxation of Estate Practitioners (STEP) qualified – Mark Baxter is passionate about developing strong, long-term relationships with his clients.

Having trained and worked in both the corporate and private client arenas, he is able to advise his clients on a breadth of tax issues which is particularly valuable when working with owner-managers.

Mark was initially drawn to a career as a tax advisor because of the interaction with individuals and business owners. He enjoys helping them achieve their goals, as well as the challenge of adapting to a constantly changing environment. He spends time really getting to know his clients as, although there are many common issues that arise, no two clients and their situations are the same. This means his role as Tax Partner is always varied and interesting.

Mark joined Mercer & Hole in 2021, he was promoted to Director in 2022 and then to Partner in 2024. Having previously worked at Cooper Parry, Grant Thornton and Deloitte, Mark has spent most of his working life in the Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire markets. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience to the benefit of both his clients and more junior team members at Mercer & Hole.
