Shaun Walker

Shaun Walker is a Restructuring and Insolvency Director who brings extensive experience across corporate recovery, insolvency and debt management. He joined Mercer & Hole after more than 12 years working within a boutique insolvency practice in Guildford, which later became part of WSM.

Shaun’s career began with a law degree at Kingston University, followed by the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford. He went on to work with a firm of trustees dealing with investments, collective investment schemes and asset protection structures before moving fully into insolvency practice, managing CVLs, administrations and personal insolvency matters.

Working mostly from our London office with a broad range of clients, including unincorporated businesses and limited companies, as well as individuals in financial distress, his focus is on helping people and businesses who find themselves facing difficult circumstances, offering clear pathways through uncertainty.

He finds the most satisfaction in guiding clients from the beginning of a challenging situation through to resolution. Whether it’s helping to rescue a business, manage an orderly wind-down or support individuals who simply need a way forward, Shaun takes pride in providing practical, empathetic and effective solutions.

For Shaun, great service is underpinned by reliable, timely and relevant advice – delivered in a way that clients can genuinely understand. He believes in being flexible and adapting his approach to each unique situation. One of the ongoing challenges in his work is navigating a regulatory environment that shifts frequently, with changing legal expectations from regulators across the sector.

Shaun has experience working with a wide variety of sectors, including FCA-regulated firms, construction businesses and professional service companies, among others. At Mercer & Hole, he works closely with colleagues including Dominic Dumville and Henry Page to deliver cohesive and strategic client support.

Outside of work, Shaun is committed to helping the next generation, mentoring students at Kingston University on their professional development. He enjoys spending quality time with his family and is currently working toward his private pilot’s licence – both in flight training and on the simulator. His interests also include cycling, clay shooting, trains and engineering, as well as renovating cars.
