Liz is a Private Client Partner based at Mercer & Hole’s London office providing tax planning for UK and non UK domiciled clients.
She has a particular interest in issues of residence and domicile and supports and advises clients who are moving to the UK and who require effective and holistic management of their affairs in, and out of the UK. Liz also advises offshore trustees on UK tax issues in relation to wealth holding structures and their UK reporting requirements as well as issues for UK resident beneficiaries.
Liz builds strong relationships with her clients to really understand what is important to them and their families, which enables the best possible support and advice that works for the long term. She takes a proactive approach and provides advice on wealth holding structures and appropriate governance of those, together with effective succession and inheritance tax planning for families. Liz also works in conjunction with our international alliance TIAG (The International Accountancy Group) when there are cross-border issues.
Liz is a Director of the firm’s trust company, Mercer & Hole Trustees Limited and she advises on all trust related matters and appropriate planning with the use of trusts in a client’s overall circumstances.
She provides a rigorous annual tax compliance and assurance service for all clients some of whom have very complex arrangements and diverse investment assets and the reporting process is integral to ensure clients are fully UK tax compliant.
Liz qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 and a Chartered Tax Advisor in 1999. She trained with KPMG in Hamburg and then gained experience in both the profession and at a Private Equity firm before joining Mercer & Hole in 2006 and becoming a Partner in 2009.
She is a fluent speaker of German and Italian. She has worked as an accountant in Germany and is fully fluent in the language and familiar with German business records.
In her spare time, Liz enjoys spending time with her family. She is also a governor at Bruce Grove Primary School in North London, a position Liz has held since 2017.
