Liz Cuthbertson is a private client tax specialist with over fifteen years experience and is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor.
Liz advises a portfolio of UK and international individuals and their families on all private client matters. These include personal and capital gains tax planning for personal and business assets, tax strategies for wealth preservation and effective succession planning for the next generation. Liz has a particular interest in residence and domicile issues and has vast experience advising non UK domiciled clients with offshore planning for them.
Liz is also a director of Mercer & Hole Trustees Limited. Among Liz's clients are many family trusts and landed estates. She advises on the taxation of trusts and uses trusts as part of overall tax planning strategies where it is appropriate to the client circumstances.
Many of Liz's clients have a compliance requirement and she provides a range of compliance services including tax returns and services for deceased estates. She also has experience of dealing with HMRC with tax investigations and enquiries.
In all of her work, Liz develops strong client relationships and seeks to provide comprehensive solutions that meet both the present and future client requirements. She is also fluent in German and Italian and does converse with clients from those countries in their native language if necessary.
She started her career at KPMG, in Hamburg, where she audited large quoted businesses. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997 and with the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2000, Liz became a partner at Mercer & Hole in 2009. Outside of her work, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
