Howard runs a busy client caseload in addition to being senior and joint managing partner at Mercer & Hole. His clients are largely SMEs (small to medium sized enterprises) but also include several independent schools and charities.
His clients fall into a number of different business sectors and he provides guidance on a range of general practice matters. Howard works closely with many clients on the development of their business, on planning issues, providing advice on financing the business and providing advice on corporate taxation issues, in addition to working with clients on accounting and audit matters. Additionally, he guides clients through matters relating to directors’ taxation and to succession planning for their business.
Howard is Chairman of Mercer & Hole Trustees, Mercer & Hole’s trust corporation, which provides tax advice & administration and executorship services to clients.
Having joined Mercer & Hole in 1967, Howard qualified as a chartered accountant in 1972 and became managing partner of Mercer & Hole in 1984 and senior partner in 1990.
Married with three children and four grandchildren, Howard enjoys playing golf and travelling when business commitments allow.
