New ‘HMRC’ scam email

HMRC is looking to raise awareness of a new phishing scam.  Anyone receiving an email with the subject ‘Your 2016 Tax Report’, with an attachment, should not open it.

The email should be forwarded to phishing@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk and then deleted.

HMRC provides updates to its guidance on phishing emails and bogus contact.
