Mercer & Hole volunteer at Milton Keynes Irish Welfare Support Group
A team from Mercer & Hole Chartered Accountants served lunch to the elderly at the Milton Keynes Irish Welfare Support Group, which meets at Milton Keynes Irish Centre.
Private Client Partner, Lisa Spearman was joined by colleagues, Simon Emery, Nathan Poole, Sam Griffiths and Debbie Bigg, who were given a warm welcome by the club’s volunteers and over 50 regular lunch club participants. The Mercer & Hole team served up a hot meal and chatted with attendees over lunch. They cleared the tables and helped in the kitchen before watching the raffle being drawn and then joining in with a game of bingo.
The club provides the opportunity for older Irish people and their friends to get together every week, from 12 noon – 3pm, and to enjoy a two-course meal with tea and coffee for a £3 fee. The lunch club is very important to many of the people who attend it, providing some with, perhaps, their only social interaction and hot meal of the week.
Mercer & Hole have supported the charity since 2014 and look forward to continuing their association with the Milton Keynes Irish Welfare Support Group.
