Mercer & Hole donated 110 items to St Albans & District Foodbank
Partners and staff from chartered accountancy firm, Mercer & Hole collected non-perishable goods for St Albans & District Foodbank, donating 110 items in celebration of their 110th year of business. Mercer & Hole’s London and Milton Keynes offices also joined in with giving to the collection.
St Albans and District Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust, the UK’s largest foodbank network. The charity provides a minimum of 3 day’s emergency food for local people in crisis and is supporting a growing number of individuals and families across the District. Donations are sorted and stored by volunteers, with frontline professionals identifying those in need for emergency food. Volunteers then help clients in signposting them to support agencies, enabling them to address any underlying problems and to help find more permanent solutions to their situation.
Mercer & Hole Partner, Steve Smith said: “We asked all of our staff to consider donating to the St Albans & District Foodbank as we mark our 110 year relationship with the community of St Albans. I am proud of our staff for making a valuable contribution to the Foodbank which will help local people who are in crisis.”
St Albans & District Foodbank Operational Manager, Emma Dalton said: “We are so grateful to Mercer & Hole for supporting the foodbank. Many local people find this service a real lifeline in an emergency - donations really do make a difference.”
