Mercer & Hole donate sewing items to The Camphill Village Trust
Chartered Accountancy firm Mercer & Hole have donated 110 essential sewing items to The Camphill Village Trust in St Albans to support their popular sewing club.
Camphill St Albans provides supported living for adults with learning difficulties and mental health problems, whilst seeking to encourage independence and inclusion within the community. Their sewing club, which runs every Saturday night from their Sandridge Road site, offers an opportunity for clients to get together and creatively experiment with a wide-range of sewing-based crafts.
Representatives of Mercer & Hole met with the lovely team of Camphill and were shown some of the projects from the sewing club, including knitting, crochet, soft toys and tapestry projects.
Mercer & Hole Partner, Gill Tallon, presented the large collection of sewing materials, which had been donated by staff in celebration of the firm’s 110 years in business, to Kay Weston, who runs the sewing club.
Speaking of the firm’s involvement, Gill said “The Camphill Village Trust plays a vital role in providing support for local people. We are pleased to make this donation from the Mercer & Hole community to help the wider community in St Albans.”
Kay said “It is really exciting to receive the donation from Mercer & Hole and we will look forward to making lots of creations.”
Mercer & Hole will continue to celebrate their long association with St Albans throughout their 110 year landmark year with other community goodwill gestures.
