Paul trained with a top 30 firm of accountants in London before joining Mercer & Hole in 1987. In 1990 Paul became a partner with the firm, based in the Milton Keynes office and today he also has involvement with the firm’s Northampton office.

A general practitioner, Paul has worked with many small and medium sized businesses helping them to grow and succeed. These businesses operate in a wide range of sectors including advertising, child care, construction, consultancy, dentistry, recruitment, FSA registered, I.T., leasing, manufacturing, professional practices, publishing, retail, sales, distribution and the service sector. In addition, Paul has had considerable involvement in looking after UK subsidiaries of overseas parent companies.

Paul has more latterly been involved with giving advice to clients involved with MBO’s, MBI’s and the buying/selling of businesses. This includes areas such as strategic advice, assistance with raising finance, financial due diligence and business valuations.

Part of Paul’s area of expertise is to combine the commercial advice given to clients, with the tax advice that is required for the business and, in the case of owner managed businesses, to take into account the personal objectives of the individuals involved.

As part of our forensic accounting team, Paul has prepared a considerable amount of expert witness reports, normally where litigation is involved.

Paul is married with three children. He tries to play golf and would like to get to the gym more often!
