We have all tut-tutted over MP’s expenses recently. However, to use an old adage, people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Is your business’ expense policy the best it can be? For example:
- Do you make an expense policy document available to all employees?
- Do you still rely on a paper-based expenses process?
- Are you reviewing your policy on claiming on travel, hotel and meals expenses because of the credit crunch?
- Are you confident that the policy would stand external scrutiny?
If not, perhaps you should look at making some changes.
