EU agreement on Swiss bank account information
Switzerland and the European Union have made an agreement on tax transparency for sharing data on residents’ bank accounts from 2018.
Each country will now receive annually the names, addresses, tax identification numbers and dates of birth of any residents with accounts in other countries, as well as other financial and account balance information.
This automatic exchange of information is designed to fight tax evasion by providing tax authorities with information so they can collect the taxes due.
