Emergency Budget 2010:  Capital allowances

George Osborne has announced that capital allowances for expenditure on plant and machinery by businesses will be reduced from April 2012 from 20% to 18% and for longer life assets from 10% to 8%. Qualifying expenditure for the annual investment allowance of 100% will also reduce from £100,000 to £25,000.
