HMRC has launched a new online video to help employers reduce the problems caused by inaccurate employee data.

Apparently of the thousands of employer returns received each year, a significant number contain incomplete or incorrect information.
Some examples from a recent study of employer returns include 128 staff entered as Mr, Ms or Mrs Dummy, 824 employees with the surname “Unknown” and 40 employees, apparently aged over 200.
The short video discusses how inaccurate employer returns can affect employees, employers and HMRC, and offers basic advice on how employers can help reduce errors.
