HMRC acknowledges that tax can be complicated when people first become self-employed. In an effort to help people calculate and budget for future tax bills it has launched a ready reckoner tool.
The reckoner shows roughly how much you might need to meet your Income Tax and Class 4 National Insurance bill with caveats.
You can find the reckoner at HMRC’s website.
