Mercer & Hole took part in the Geoffrey Leaver corporate relay challenge as part of the MK Marathon on Sunday 29 April 2012. The team comprised of Dan Chapman, Tom Cooke, Tracy Wallbank and Hayley Wilson Potter who ran the four stages of approximately 6.5 (Caldecotte Lake change), 8.5 (Willen Lake change), 6.5 (Linford Wood change) and 4.7 miles (StadiumMK finish!).
Dan relives the experience of the event...
Well what can I say, we all woke up to such a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the temperatures were absolutely spot on… NOT (in a some what ironic tone). From early morning to late afternoon the rain was constant and the wind was very fast. It made the marathon a little more challenging than it already was. But, as a team, we pulled through it and did extremely well. We managed to come 28th out of 95 teams and finished with a time of 3:51:41.
Leigh Carr also ran the whole marathon waving the Mercer & Hole flag too and finished with a brilliant time of 3:55:41. Exactly four minutes behind us. It was a very good day, even with the rain!
